New Age Football Academies main purpose and objectives are to
strive to achieve long term player development, advanced skills and
fitness, talent Identifications, skill and development, game awareness
and football discipline.
I am concentrating my academies for the age groups ranging from
U10’s – U16’s and to cater for the needs of all participants including
players new to the game. I incorporate the FFA national Curriculum in
my coaching philosophy and teachings and I fully support its
recommendations.
My purpose is to create a talent development and Identification pathway
which will lead players to the Elite level of football in Australia,
ie Representative sides and further down the track, Hyundai A league and
Australian teams. I would be looking to enter teams in the Kanga Cup,
held in Canberra and possibly tournaments held in Asia. I will be working
in conjunction with the Premier Football Academy based in South Australia.
We will have a National Championship competition held once a year
between the two academies, with each academy holding the tournament
alternate years.
I have been coaching now for 22years and my experience covers both
here and overseas, as well as working as a Peak performance Coach with
The European Football Institute.
Whilst I was in the UK I worked with Stoke City Academy, Readings
Academy and Celtic FC Academy and coaches. These contacts give me
the opportunity to have my academy players be able travel with me
overseas to play these other Academy sides and to experience the
reality of living, sleeping and playing football in a professional environment.
While overseas we will be working with former England and Chelsea player
Bill Garner who is a scout for several English clubs including West Ham FC,
Stoke City FC, Southend and Reading. I also worked with Martin Thomas,
National Goal Keeping coach of England.
My overseas contacts are:
Michael Kathapoulis – Greece – player/agent
Murray Beveridge – Sports Scientist –London
Greig Robertson – Celtic Football Academy – Scotland
My experience has helped give pathways to players such as :
Tony Hatzis – Greece
Ryan McGowan – Hearts (Scotland)
Hayden Doyle – Stoke City (UK)
Mickey Doyle – Adeliade United Youth team
Rocco Visconte – Former Dundee United (Scotland), currently Brisbane Roar
I hold a FFA B licence which is the equivalent of the AFC International Licence
and have all my coaching certificates from Grassroots to current with Advance
passes. I also hold Sports Medicine Certificates 1&2, Current 1st Aid and CPR
Certificates and Australian Blue Card.
I have been playing since I was able to walk, and I have been fortunate
enough to play for a while in the Irish Premier League and trailed with
Southampton and Portsmouth Youth teams. I got into Sports Medicine
and coaching after an injury and business commitments that stopped
me from playing at a semi professional level.
LISTEN LEARN PERFORM
