Monday, March 15, 2010 New Rover BRAND NEW ROVER Ipswich Knights midfielder/striker Brodie KENYON has reunited with his former coach Joe Fenech at Taringa Rovers FC. Brodie, or RED as he is affectionately known in the football circles trained with the Rovers last week and said, "I enjoyed the training sessions, and I think that I can contribute to the club. There are a lot of very good players here and despite the recent results I think that anyone underestimating Taringa Rovers will be in for a surprise" Rovers Head Coach said, " Brodie will be a very good signing for us. He can play up front and in the midfield. He is very good in the air. He has a tremendous shot. He can be very physical, and yet is capable of some delightful touches. His passing range is second to none, and he has fitted in with the lads at Taringa really well after just two training sessions" Stuart, you may have a photo of Red somewhere he was in the Div One Rep team last year. His squad number will be #32, if you want to add him to the Squad on yourbpl. Regards Joe Fenech Friday, January 15, 2010 Season 2010 Season 2010 Season 2010 is shaping up to be one of the most competitive leagues in a long while. The BPL can now truly boast to be the Premier Football competition in Queensland after the A-League. Players involved in the Brisbane Premier League (BPL) will have the opportunity to show off their talent to Queensland A-League clubs, with The Roar, and The Gold Coast best placed to scout the talent on show. At Taringa Rovers we have put together a 30 man squad, which will be backed up with a very strong 15 man Metro One Squad as we face what is expected to be one of the most challenging seasons in our clubs recent history. The likes of Brisbane Olympic, Peninsula Power, Redlands United; Rochedale Rovers; Easts; Brisbane City, and Brisbane Wolves appear to have strengthened on already strong squads from last season. Capalaba under new coach Tim Brown will be very well organized and they will be aiming at a repeat of a very good season last season. Beenleigh will certainly be one of the fittest teams in the league knowing how Nick Morris will have put the players through a training regime second to none. Pine Hills under the guidance of Ashley Hempstead will be a team that will surprise some of the more favoured teams in the league. Pine Rivers with Alan Waller at the helm will be tactically very sound and I for one will not be surprised to see them knocking on the door at a very high finish this season. Steve Glockner at Souths is a quiet achiever and teams that go to Runcorn this season will know that they will be fully tested. Mt Gravatt, have been going about their business without a whimper in the off season, but one thing is for sure and that is that Karl Herdle will have plenty up his sleeve come the opening fixture on 20th February. At Taringa Rovers we have assembled what I call a decent squad, full of committed, hard working and ambitious players who will face the huge challenge that is 2010 head on. I expect the lads to earn the respect of other more favoured clubs by playing an attacking brand of football and taking it to the fancied teams both at home and away. Many pundits on several local football forums have us as underdogs in 2010, and that is a tag that will most certainly stir up each and every proud player in our squad. Our first objective this coming season is to exceed the point’s tally we managed last season. We will need to win 10 games to achieve that and (and with a total of 26 league fixtures to be played this season) this is not beyond us. Please visit our website regularly throughout the season as we try and provide match reports and other information to ensure that you are kept up to date on our progress in 2010. Wednesday, October 14, 2009 Joe Fenech Joe Fenech Head Coach 2010 and Beyond Taringa Rovers Football Club is happy to announce Mr Joe Fenech as our Head Coach indefinitely. Joe has been the Premier League Coach for the past two seasons and has embraced the Taringa Rovers family like his own. With his continued role as Head Coach, Joe will be overseeing all coaching principles from Rooball to the Premier League. Joe is a great supporter of junior development and will also oversee our 3 acadamies - (U9 & U10's), (U11,U12 & U13's) & (U14,U15 & U16's) - more details on our Academy page. We are very fortunate to have Joe with us. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge. What he brings to the Rovers is not easy to find these days. True passion for the essence of the game, 'old school' sportsmanship values, great humanity and generosity of spirit. Joe understands the game inside out and upside down and even when he is very busy with his Premier League squad he always finds a moment to say hello and offer encouragement to our junior players. Joe also brings with him a tremendous amount of business and corporate experience. He is actively involved in the forward planning and regrowth of the club. As Head Coach, Joe is of course acknowledged with the respect his experience and position require, but he is also very likeable and has made many good friends here at Taringa. Thanks for your dedication, commitment and hard work Joe. We look forward to having you with us for a very long time. Cheers mate, Wayne Diaz, President TRFC |
