U9-U12 INFORMATION

Miniroos - U9 - U12

Taringa Rovers Soccer FC

At Taringa Rovers, our  Under 9 to Under 12 MiniRoos program is designed to foster player development through structured training and competitive matches against other Brisbane region clubs. We offer separate programs for boys and girls, with multiple grading levels to cater to varying skill sets, ensuring each player can thrive in an environment suited to their abilities.

Program Structure:

  • Training:  Weekly sessions focusing on technical skills, tactical understanding, and teamwork.
  • Matches:  Scheduled on Saturday mornings, with exact times determined by league fixtures.

U9-U12 Kangaroo and Wallaby JCP on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday commencing 30 March 2026. Kangaroo teams training twice a week.

Grading Levels:

To align with Football Queensland (FQ) and Football Australia (FA) standards, players are graded into three levels:

  1. Kangaroos (Advanced):  For players with above-average skills and experience, seeking higher-level competition. Selection to a Kangaroo team is by invitation.
  2. Wallabies (Intermediate/beginner teams):  For players with developing skills, offering a balanced competitive environment.

This grading ensures players are placed in teams that match their current abilities, promoting personal growth and enjoyment. By offering structured grading, dedicated coaching, and opportunities for advanced development, TRSFC’s U9–U12 MiniRoos program aligns with FQ and FA guidelines, providing a comprehensive pathway for young footballers.

FQ Academy Teams (U9–U12):

TRSFC also participates in the  FQ Academy, part of Football Australia’s recognized pathway for state team selection and progression to national teams. The FQ Academy provides talented young players with access to advanced training programs designed to support their development and long-term progression in the game.

Team Composition and Coaching:

  • Coaches:  Drawn from qualified parent volunteers and current senior players, all receiving support to obtain appropriate coaching licenses.
  • Team Managers:  Each team has a dedicated manager to coordinate communication and logistics.

Parent Involvement:

  • Volunteering:  Parents are encouraged to volunteer as coaches or managers. TRSFC assists with the registration process through Squadi and LetsPlayFootball and facilitates obtaining a Blue Card (Working with Children Check) at no cost.
  • Field Assistance:  Parents are requested to help set up and pack down fields, including goals, to ensure smooth transitions between training sessions.

Additional Training Opportunities:

Subject to availability and additional fees, players may access extra training and development through the Academy and Development Program, enhancing their skills beyond regular sessions.
