Academy, Junior Development & Clinics


The Academy this year will be run over 2 blocks that cover the period July to November 2018 and is offered to children from U6 - U12 age groups. 
Each Block runs for a period of 8 weeks. Sessions will be held at Jack Speare Park.
Cost - Single block $105 per child
Numbers are limited to 12 per age group, and will fill quickly, so please reserve a place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Dates are as follows:

Block 2 - Tuesday, 9 October to 27 November
Sessions will run from 4.30pm for 1hr

Kelvin Wheeler - Technical Director of Coaching - Juniors

The club has appointed Kelvin Wheeler an experienced coach to the position of Technical Director for our Junior sides. Kelvin was previously the club's Women’s Premier League Head Coach. 

Kelvin holds an AFC 'B' Licence and has many years’ experience of coaching juniors (boys & girls) and women at both club and representative level. He brings with him the expertise, skillset and knowledge required to guide and develop Taringa Rovers SFC junior players at a crucial and important part of their football development.

Taringa Rovers Junior Player Development Strategy

The focus of Taringa Rovers Soccer Football Club at a junior level is to provide opportunities to local children to enjoy football and develop their football skills to the best level they can be both individually and as a team rather than being completely focused elite junior development at the expense of serving the local community.

On this basis Taringa Rovers has established a junior development program which seeks to maximise the opportunities for local children to develop their footballing skills in a controlled and fun environment through the preparatory and small sided phases of football development, which will then lead to the development of both home grown players than can play at elite junior levels available (such as NPL and SYL), whilst not excluding local social players and on the whole providing children with a love of both football and Taringa Rovers that they will carry with them into adulthood.
